Jeff Rosenbloom was our realtor when we purchased our house in Berkeley. If by any chance you do not know it, the housing market in Berkeley is above the boiling point. It means that if you want to have any chance to purchase a house, you must be super efficient and fast. This is exactly why we highly recommend Jeff. I will try to emphasize Jeff’s qualifications chronologically, starting with getting to know your realtor and ending with purchasing a house:  Our first meeting with Jeff was great. He was well organized, very open and he gave us plenty of starting advice. More than that, he referred us to an excellent mortgage broker. Jeff was amazing in getting to know us. He quickly understood what each of us (my wife and I) were looking for. I think that, very quickly, my wife counted on his opinion more than she counted on mine… He was very responsive, 24/7. He was always patient with us; it was our first home and we bombarded him with a lot of questions. Jeff has a first-hand knowledge of construction. It means that when he sees a house, he knows what to look for. More than that, he knows many professional contractors (plumbers, electricians etc.) who can come in a short time and check the house. Again, timing is critical! Jeff’s knowledge of the market is exceptional! He will NOT advise you to put in a bid of too much or too little. In line with that, he did not push us to buy any house. He always emphasized that it is our choice. He also knows and has good relationships with other real estate agents. Do not underestimate this point! When you put a bid on a house, you are facing tons of paper work. Jeff guided us through it in a timely manner. Again, timing is crucial. No one is going to wait for you… After we purchased the house, Jeff was still there for us--we needed some information from the previous owner, we had questions for the seller’s realtor etc. Jeff was and still is very supportive. Last but not least, Jeff is a fun person to work with. You are going to spend a lot of time with your realtor. Why not enjoy it?

Jeff was invaluable in helping us buy our beautiful home in Rockridge.  Not only was he very knowledgeable about the local market, but his structural knowledge about homes--being able to anticipate future problems as well as discuss necessary upgrades--surely saved us from several homes that only seemed like bargains.  He was always friendly and helpful and several times dissuaded us from putting in offers on homes he saw as bad investments, a situation where many realtors would have been simply happy to make the sale.

Jeff is the consummate realtor.  My husband and I are a cautious and skeptical duo who had never managed a winning offer despite several previous forays into the market.  So when we recently needed a house in a hurry, we knew we had to find the right realtor.  Thanks to a word of mouth recommendation, we found Jeff.  And within 3 weeks of meeting Jeff we were in contract on the third of three offers; and three weeks after that we had the keys to our new home!  What put Jeff far ahead of our previous agents was his demonstrable knowledge of the nuts and bolts of housing, literally from the foundation up.  In a quick walk through of our rental home (which we were considering buying), he told us more than several previous experts we had consulted.  After years of skepticism, we just never doubted that Jeff knew what he was talking about.  He earned our trust within the first hour.  And he kept it by continuing to deliver useful information and pertinent advice without ever losing sight of our priorities or putting us under unnecessary pressure.  And he did it all with the gentle savvy of a psychologist and the wry wit and respectful affection of your favorite uncle.Yes, it's all true.  Jeff is the best!
